What does Business Analyst do?

Business Analyst is an important link between the client and the project team that contributes to the success of the project. The key tasks of BA are to identify and analyze needs, translate them into quality documentation and communicate to all project stakeholders in a way they can understand.

Who would you work with?

Our project teams consist of Project Manager, Designer, several Developers and QA, and the Product Manager also participates in the preparation of projects.

Task description:

– Collecting, defining and documenting project requirements
– Development of functional specifications that describe the required solution
– Preparation of project and user documentation and their maintenance
– Communicating and informing the project team and the client
– Business process modeling
– Education of key users and system administrators
– Identifying opportunities to improve the process

Should BA be of technical orientation?

BA does not have to be a technical person (eg does not have to know how to program), but as a person who collaborates with developers, designers and QA must have a good understanding of the software development process, technologies and services used, UX and UI principles, etc. Especially because it is the BA who often needs to “translate” information across multiple pages and understand each side from its perspective. Therefore, any previous experience and knowledge with the technologies we use – comes in very handy, but it is not a prerequisite.

What skills and qualities should a BA have?

BA’s job requires analyticalness and thoroughness; excellent communication skills in speech and writing to successfully conduct interviews, present, negotiate and consolidate information into legible documentation; knowledge of platforms and technology; resourcefulness and good research skills; good organizational skills for successful coordination with all stakeholders, structuring information and organizing their own work and activities.
